Apple Butter

Ingredients

  • 3kg apples (about 16 apples)

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • cloves (optional, as desired)

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Peel, core, and rough cut the apples. Add to the Instant Pot.

  2. Add the rest of the ingredients except the vanilla. Add a small amount of water on the bottom.

  3. Set the instant pot for “Manual” 90 minutes, plus 10 minutes natural release.

  4. Use a hand blender to blend until completely smooth.

  5. Set the instant pot to “Slow Cook” for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Do not fully cover with a lid.

  6. Add vanilla and allow to cool.

  7. Store in the fridge or the freezer.
