Pouding Chômeur

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 2 cup flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1 1/3 cup whole milk

  • 1/3 cup butter

  • 1 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 cup heavy cream (35%)

Directions

  1. Mix 1/2 cup butter and white sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add flour and powder, alternating with the milk.

  2. Put into well buttered glass baking dish (13x9). Set aside, and make the sauce at the same time.

  3. Heat the 1/3 cup butter, maple syrup, brown sugar, and heavy cream in a pot until boiling. Reduce temperature and simmer for 2 minutes.

  4. Gently pour sauce over cake batter in the pan. Bake at 325 for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry.
